Environmental Compliance Assessment Report
Environmental Compliance Assessment Report
A compliance assessment compares defined obligations with documented evidence. Each conclusion should be linked to the applicable requirement, review period and evidence source.
## 1. Report structure - Facility, permit and assessment-period details. - Scope, criteria, limitations and assessment methodology. - Permit and legal-obligation register reviewed. - Review of emissions, discharges, waste, monitoring and reporting obligations. - Evidence and compliance status for each requirement. - Non-conformities, risks and corrective-action plan. - Conclusions, unresolved issues and appendices.
## 2. Compliance register template | Requirement ID | Requirement / permit clause | Evidence reviewed | Assessment | Gap / finding | Action | |—|—|—|—|—|—| | C-01 | Applicable discharge condition | Monitoring report / result | To be assessed | — | — | | C-02 | Waste storage condition | Inspection record / photos | To be assessed | — | — | | C-03 | Periodic reporting duty | Submission record | To be assessed | — | — |
Use controlled status values such as Compliant, Non-compliant, Not applicable, Not assessed or Insufficient evidence. Define these terms in the report.
## 3. Assessment discipline Verify that the cited permit version was effective during the review period. Check units, averaging periods, sampling locations, analytical methods, notification deadlines and exemptions. Do not compare a result with a limit that applies to a different discharge point or averaging basis.
## 4. Evidence hierarchy Consider approved permits and amendments, validated monitoring results, official submissions and acknowledgements, controlled operating records, inspection evidence and documented interviews. Record conflicting or missing evidence explicitly.
## 5. Conclusion wording State the scope and evidence base, summarize confirmed findings, identify matters that could not be verified and avoid making legal determinations outside the assessor’s authority.
